Description: An unusual shield from the Indian subcontinent (date and details to be confirmed) It is made of thick cured hide, and quite deeply domed. The decoration consists of lacquer over a decorative base layer, the top layer split due to prolonged drying, exposing the reddish underlayer. There are four iron shield bosses in the shield's centre. The inside of the shield is lacquered black and has four metal rings attached. More details to follow.
